FGCU Emergency Management Advisory

Sept. 27, 2022 | FGCU is canceling all classes and non-essential campus activities Thursday and Friday. FGCU leaders will evaluate methods for students to make up for lost instructional time, which will likely include the use of planned study dates as regular academic class. Please expect updates to the academic calendar once we return to normal operations. For storm updates, visit fgcu.edu/emergencymanagement.

Everglades Wetland Research Park

The Everglades Wetland Research Park (EWRP) provides teaching, research, and service related to wetland, river, coastal science and ecological engineering.

Located on the campus of the Naples Botanical Garden, Naples, Florida, the EWRP seeks to understand

  • How wetlands function.
  • If and how we can create and restore wetlands.

The overall goals of our facility are the same as that of the university: teaching, research, and service, but in a soggy environment!  We have and will continue to contribute to the restoration and conservation of wetlands in the Florida Everglades (the sawgrass “river of grass”, Big Cypress Swamp, coastal mangrove swamps) and wetlands around the world.
