Important Messages:

The Office of Service-Learning & Civic Engagement has a new location on campus:
McTarnaghan Hall, Suite 229.

Safety is a priority when engaging in experiential learning opportunities.  Due to the ongoing pandemic and before engaging in service-learning, we require students read the following COVID-19 safety statement.  Students enrolled in service-learning courses will also be asked to acknowledge this statement in their course.   For the most updated university information please see the FGCU Coronavirus Updates page.

Service-Learning & Civic Engagement staff remain available to assist via phone, email, or to meet individually as needed by appointment via phone or video chat during regular business hours.  Please contact us at for assistance.

If you are searching for service-learning opportunities, please find resources and our current list of opportunities in Eagle Link by clicking the button below.  This Eagle Link page is updated frequently with new opportunities, so check back often.  Be sure to follow the instructions listed under each opportunity to RSVP and to confirm with each community partner that the details of the opportunity are still current.

If you don't see virtual opportunities listed under "Events" that align with your abilities or passions, additional ideas for virtual opportunities can be found here.

Community Engagement Day celebrates service

Every spring, FGCU recognizes the outstanding service achievements of individuals and groups during Community Engagement Day at Alico Arena. This annual tradition represents an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to showcase projects from the current academic year that demonstrate extraordinary impact on the lives of community members.

As part of the celebration, a panel of judges confers awards to exceptional engagement efforts. To ensure your project is considered for recognition, it’s important to collect documentation such as photos and statistics that verify the impact of your service. Follow our social media to stay in the loop regarding nomination details and deadlines.
