Orthopeadic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program

Central to the mission of the Post-Graduate OMPT Fellowship program is the mission and goals of Florida Gulf Coast University and the Marieb College of Health & Human Services. Reflective of this, the fellowship program is designed to meet the needs of the practicing physical therapist. The program allows physical therapists to advance their knowledge, clinical reasoning and handling skills to meet the standard set by the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists and the International Federation of Orthopedic Manual Therapy.

Fellows-in-training become proficient in the clinical applications of all aspects of manual therapy, including thrust manipulation as they relate this to the evidence-based practice management model. Fellows-in-training will be self-directed learners in which they will acquire skills that aid them in becoming leaders in the field of manual therapy and maximize their patient outcomes.

Eligible applicants must have graduated from a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapy degree program, have passed the Orthopedic Specialist Certification exam (OCS), and hold a current physical therapy license in the US. Interested applicants should contact Rob Sillevis for an individualized plan of study. The Fellowship Program is designed to be a distant learning format which is combined with three, five days on campus instruction.
