Dr. Brian Fisher has worked in higher education for over 25 years. Brian worked in various leadership capacities while studying at Florida State University. After completing his master's degree, he worked as an Area Coordinator at the University of Alabama. From there, Brian went to Florida International University where he worked for nine years in the Office of Housing & Residence Life. During his time there, the housing department doubled in size. He was able to get directly involved in several housing construction projects during his time there at FIU. He spent five years of his time there serving as the Assistant Director for Applications, Assignments and Technology.

Brian transitioned to FGCU in 2006. Initially, he served as an Associate Director in Housing & Residence Life. He transitioned to the role of Director in 2009 and served in this capacity until 2018. During this period, the housing department grew by 2300 beds. Brian helped provide leadership to the construction of 1800 new beds approaching 100 million dollars in total cost. He also helped with the acquisition and transition of university ownership of 500 additional off campus beds in 2010. Brian transitioned to his current position in 2018. In his capacity of Associate Vice President of Student Engagement, he provides leadership and guidance to several areas on campus including: Campus Life, Campus Recreation, Housing & Residence Life, Student Health Services, Counseling & Psychological Services and Prevention & Wellness.
