Ann Tilman, EdD, SB-RPT, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling at Florida Gulf Coast University. She was a school counselor for over a decade prior to becoming a counselor educator and uses that experience to inform her teaching, scholarship, and service to the community. She earned her doctorate in Counselor Education & Supervision, Master’s in Mental Health Counseling, and a Graduate Certificate in play therapy. She teaches future school counselors and mental health counselors and continues to develop coursework in play therapy and counseling children and adolescents.
Dr. Tilman is a certified School Counselor, a School Based-Registered Play Therapist (SB-RPT) and a certified AutPlay provider (play-based intervention for autism and neurodevelopmental disorders). She provides play therapy and AutPlay services to children at FGCU’s Community Counseling Center. Dr. Tilman is also a core member of the Community Autism Network@FGCU. Dr. Tilman is involved with American School Counselor Association, Florida School Counselor Association, Association for Play Therapy, Florida Association for Play Therapy, and her local play therapy chapter.
