Associate Vice President, Academic Engagement

 Orientation Programming, Transition Courses/Programming, Retention Initiatives, First-Year Experience Programming, Academic Advising Models and Delivery

Dr. Andrew Cinoman currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Academic Engagement. The functional areas under his supervision include Academic Support Programs & Services, Service Learning & Civic Engagement, The Office of the First Year Experience & Retention Programs, University Advising Services, and the Hartley Academic Resource Center. Prior to his arrival at FGCU in 2010, he served as Director of Orientation Services at The University of Iowa and as an Associate Director of Admissions and also worked at Ohio University, where he had served as an Academic Counselor and as the Director of the Precollege orientation experience for undergraduate students.

In addition to these professional roles, Andy has maintained a long-standing membership with NACADA (The Global Community of Academic Advising) and has served in a number of volunteer leadership roles for the Association for Orientation, Transition, and Retention in Higher Education (NODA), culminating in his serving a term as President of the Association from 2015-2017.
