Online Writing Support Through Smarthinking

What is Smarthinking?

Smarthinking is our online tutoring service, which is available to all FGCU students, faculty and Staff. Smarthinking offers 24/7 writing support through online writing submissions, live writing sessions, and online question submissions. If you are not able to visit the Writing Center in-person during our hours of operation, Smarthinking is a great alternative to ensure that you still have access to writing support for all of your writing-related needs!

Smarthinking is a third-party online tutoring service provided free of charge, which can be accessed through the Canvas link below. All paper submissions are reviewed by Smarthinking's own in-house tutoring team, who will read through your paper and provide general feedback regarding your paper's strengths, areas for improvement, and any specific questions you may have.

Please note that Smarthinking tutors are not trained or employed by the Writing Center; if you would prefer to work with a Writing Center writing consultant, you are always more than welcome to make an appointment with us or stop in for a walk-in during our regular hours of operation. Additionally, you are always welcome to work with a Writing Center writing consultant to implement feedback you received from Smarthinking, if desired.
