Showcase of Undergraduate Research Experiences (SURE)
A one day event for students to share their experiences in research/scholarship or creative endeavors through oral presentations. Students will get inspired by learning about other students’ experiences and learning about research/scholarly opportunities offered by FGCU faculty.
Unfortunately SURE 2020 has been postponed.
If you are an undergraduate researcher, or know any that are interested in presenting their scholarly work, please apply for:
Research Day 2021 - Friday, April 16th, 2021
Deadline for abstract submission is 5:00 pm, Friday, March 12th, 2021.
What kinds of presentations happen at SURE?
SURE is an amazing opportunity for students to talk about not just the results of a research project or creative endeavor, but also hows and whys of the project. Students are encouraged to talk about:
- How they got started with a faculty mentor
- Challenges and joys of the work (coming back from failures and setbacks, ah-ha moments).
- Travel and presentation opportunities that might have been a part of the project.
- Doors that have been opened as a result of the project (grad school, networking, new skills).
Why should I attend SURE?
- You will learn about all of the awesome stuff FGCU undergraduate students are involved in.
- You might even get an idea for something YOU want to do in scholarly or creative endeavors and learn how you can make it happen.
