    Laura Frost is Professor of Chemistry and Director of the Whitaker Center for STEM Education. Prior to her arrival at FGCU she taught chemistry at Georgia Southern University. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and B.S. from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Her current research interests include the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and Chemistry Education. She has used guided-inquiry approaches to learning in the classroom and is a workshop facilitator for the Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) project. In 2007 she was recognized with an Award of Excellence in SoTL by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents. She is coauthor of the textbook General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry published by Pearson Education and has also published a workbook of guided-inquiry activities. A newcomer to FGCU she is looking forward to advancing the mission of the Whitaker Center. When not on the job, she finds time to enjoy running, hiking, her husband Baxter, and their two children, Iris and Baxter.
